In a heartwarming show of community spirit and educational advocacy, the Alumni Association of NiBS University, in collaboration with the 2025 Doctoral Graduating Class, paid a special visit to La Bawaleshie Primary and Junior High School. The purpose of the visit was twofold: to donate essential stationery supplies and to inspire the students with powerful words of encouragement.
The event, held in one of the JHS classrooms at the school, was marked by warmth, gratitude, and a renewed sense of hope. As students eagerly received the educational materials books, pens, pencils, erasers, and other stationery. Members of the alumni and graduating doctoral class took turns addressing them with messages rooted in dedication, discipline, and determination.
“It doesn’t matter where you start from,” one alumnus shared, “The most valuable resource you have right now is your intellect. You have to study, sharpen your mind, and stay disciplined in order to compete globally and create a better future for yourself and your community.” These heartfelt words resonated deeply with students and teachers alike, reminding them of the possibilities that lie ahead despite current challenges.
In an even more remarkable gesture, some alumni went a step further by making a commitment to support brilliant but needy students who excel in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). These students, if they show academic promise and dedication, will receive financial support and mentorship to help them continue their educational journeys beyond junior high school.
This initiative underscores NiBS University’s enduring values of leadership, impact, and social responsibility. It also reflects the alumni’s commitment to giving back and ensuring that no potential is wasted due to financial limitations.
As the visit concluded, the faces of the young students lit up, not just because of the gifts they received, but because they saw in their visitors a reflection of what they too could become.
